INTRODUCTION OF GHANA CHRISTIAN BOOKS AWARDS
(MAIDEN EDITION)
STATEMENT OF PROBLEM
Started some 500 years ago, Christianity now accounts for 69.1% of the Ghanaian population. Considering the high level of selfishness, worldliness, crime, moral decadence, corruption and general indiscipline in society, one is at a loss as to whether Ghanaian Christians actually understand what it means to be a Christian and how to walk in integrity and uprightness. Families, institutions and the nation suffer a great deal as a result of these evil practices. Lack of knowledge is one major identified problem. Bible asserts in Hosea 4:6 "my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.
It is worth noting that in an attempt to address this issue, some concerned Ghanaians have researched into the subject matter and come out with valuable Christian books that seek to find out what has gone wrong in the Society and suggest ways to correct them. It is therefore significant to reward writers, publishers and distributors of christian books for their outstanding and immense contribution to national development.
